As a previous client of counselling, I can fully understand the often daunting task of trying to choose a counsellor. You may have scanned different websites to see what counsellors can offer, if they may understand you and your life, what fees they charge and type of counselling they offer. Sometimes we do not care for the descriptions of different types of counselling and want to know how will this all help me? Ultimately we all desire one important aspect from counselling and that is to be listened to and heard.
Here at Avenue Counselling & Psychotherapy, I believe the quality of the counselling relationship to be key and I endeavour to provide this with each client I meet. I want each and every client to feel respected and heard by building a down to earth, compassionate and trusting relationship where you are free to be open and honest in a non-judgmental environment. I work in an integrative way catering theories and techniques such as CBT, Humanistic Therapy, Choice Theory etc which are comfortable and best suited to you.
I am passionate about what I do, and for me this is not a job but rather a way of life. I feel both fortunate and privileged to work within the area of counselling and psychotherapy.
I am a qualified, professionally Garda vetted, insured, supervised and fully accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist of the IACP, holding a Bachelor of Science Degree from Middlesex University in Counselling & Psychotherapy, Dip Counselling & Psychotherapy, Dip Advanced CBT Mindfulness, Dip Advanced Psychology, Dip Anger & Aggression Management & Cert ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training).
I have worked with several counselling agencies over the past number of years working with a diverse range of clients. I have also worked in the corporate and voluntary sector for over 15 years giving me a vast range of experience and perspective.
